BBE PTO MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday January 17, 2023

1.Sierra call to order 6.09pm
2.5th grade tshirt - Ms Baker said one more chance so hopefully by Friday there will be some more designs. Teachers will vote on their favorites, then the kids can vote on their favorites.
A sign up genius has gone out for the new way to do Champ Bucks – taking a cart around to the pods. There will be a 5 min overlap for classes. Andrea mentioned that it is definitely helpful when the teachers email for direct help, rather than just a facebook post or a line in the weekly newsletter.
3. Treasurer notes:
Collected $5,005.95 from holiday shop.
Paid out $12,311.38
4. Approve December minutes:
Erin motion, Andrea seconds – all in favor, motion passes. Minutes are approved.

Jan 24 – Champ Bucks Store (now a cart in the pods)
Jan 25 – Spirit night at Spring Creek BBQ
Jan 26 – Booster Run!
Jan 29 – 100th day of school, dress up optional
Feb 15 – Early release 12.10pm
Feb 16 & 19 – No school
Feb 21 – Feb PTO Meeting at 9.30am
Feb 21 – Spirit night at Crumbl Cookie
March 7 – Multicultural Event
April 18 – Spirit night at Space Cowboys
6. Volunteer Opportunities:
Scan the QR code, would love help with car, lunch, recess duty, Friday popcorn and Champ Bucks cart
7. Committee Remarks:
Ways & Means: Nicole – Boosterthon, hopefully no rain so it can all be outside. 15% achieved = gift card giveaway. Kick off is tomorrow, the team will be coming in during student lunch times. Prizes will be given out for students as $ goals are achieved. Dude Perfect are involved for games and challenges. The goal is to raise $15,000 for BBE.
Program Development: aprons/shirts for the volunteers, flyers are coming.
April Spirit night will be Space Cowboys tickets with possible option for choir and cheer to perform. Tickets $18 (we get $5 p ticket). Malhorie will check where our section will be, 1st base side or other. Sierra will check with Mr Horton and Ms Medrano to get a head count on choir and cheer kids.
Mrs Kulhanek has met Olu from Cinnaholic on University Blvd who would like to do a Spirit night with us. Malhorie will follow up with him.
Field Day: still a work in progress, we need sno-cone truck recommendations. And a fun type of show recommendation (not Bubbles show). Get your tshirts ordered before March 10th. Cori or Dr Bolden will include it in email after Boosterthon.
Parties : End of Year. Plenty of food leftover from Winter parties. More details to come.
Yearbook: tons of photos thank you everyone. The Cover contest starts February.
JA: – all classes except three 1st grade. Ms A, Nasim and Cammock-Zarate. Ms Dading will get with those teachers to send flyers home in the hope that parents will help.
M Art update: 2 classes left who need help Mrs Varghese & and Mrs Nasim.
8. New Business:
PTO voted on spending funds for the Zen room and it was approved, some items for Mrs Scholl have already started arriving. Officially start Feb 1st. Will have to sign up to use it.
PTO website calendar needs to be updated, opens up to Jan 2020 and need to click thru to find current info. Sierra/Nicole to look into fixing that.
9. VP Remarks:
Thank you all so much! There is so much more going on in the school, especially now that Covid is over. Dr Bolden will send Boosterthon reminder tomorrow and would love us all at CPAC on Monday 22nd at 5pm. Coffee with the Principal was a great time. One of the big things brought up was Schoology and helping parents so that we can be on the same page as the teachers.
10. Mrs Kulhanek – open house is on February 29th and the literacy event Bingo for Books will be held at 4.30pm just prior to Open House (which starts at 5.30pm).
11. Nicole – inclement weather makeup day is scheduled for 2/19. We have not heard anything yet from the district regarding a change to this day.
